An art practice alongside Design Kyo
Nagi Studio is Toshio Abiko’s artwork practice. Making bamboo fences leaves beautiful offcuts — branches with character, curve, and grain. Rather than discard them, each piece is composed so its form resonates with the room, the wall, the light.
Work ranges from bamboo branch wall sculpture to a willow-and-washi installation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and driftwood panels greyed by the sea. The same hand that designs gardens and interiors builds these pieces in the Boston workshop.
