Tokai needed a retail display that did more than show product. It had to welcome people in, with warm natural wood, earthy colors, and a composition quiet enough that visitors would pause.
The shoji-lit shelving carries the calm of a Japanese room into a working storefront. That is the measure of commercial design done with Japanese restraint.
